As we are winding down 2024 and looking forward to 2025, I wanted to share our favorite books from 2024 with you. One thing is for sure, if you follow me, you are always bound to get a lot of book recommendations!
OUR FAVORITE BOOKS OF THE YEAR
Okay, I don’t think anyone was committed to saying that one book was their absolute favorite of the year, so these are each one of our favorites.
THE FOUR-YEAR-OLD: she has a funny fascination with physically small books, her favorites are the tiny ones, lol. So, mainly for that reason her favorite book of the year was The Gruffalo, we own it in a tiny version, thankfully it’s also just a great book.
THE SIX-YEAR-OLD: this is my one (currently) public school child and if you ask him what his favorite subject in school is, he usually says “library” – a kid after my own heart! Library days are his favorites and one book we have read over and over is The Legend of Rock, Paper, Scissors, it’s a fun one.
THE ELEVEN-YEAR-OLD: he has read so many more books this year than ever before, he says one of his favorites is Rust, it’s a science fiction graphic novel and he’s read it numerous times this year.
THE FOURTEEN-YEAR-OLD: she had a rough start to her reading year but this last half has found many new favorites, one of which is The Nature of Small Birds, it’s a favorite of mine as well so it’s highly recommended!
THE MOM: I read so many books each year that it’s hard to just pick one. I will be sharing a video on my book channel soon where I share all my favorites of the year, so I’ll pick a non-fiction to narrow down my choices and will say Life is Hard, God is Good, Let’s Dance. Brant Hansen’s books are always a win in my books and his latest one did not disappoint.
I would love to hear some of your favorite books from the year, let me know!
Be sure to stay tuned to the YouTube channel next weekend for the first of my weekly homeschool videos, lots more book recommendations will be coming your way there and in future posts here!
